What is everyone's favorite Indy film right now? My ranking would go like this.
1. Last Crusade (best)
2. Temple of Doom
3. Raiders
4. Crystal Skull (worst)
I love all the films equally (yes, even Crystal Skull). Feel free to reply and discuss!

I think my favorite is TOD, an odd choice I know… but there’s always been something about it that feels like you go to Hell and back that I love. But if I was going off of the “quality” of each film, I think I’d have to rank them:
  1. Raiders
  2. Last Crusade
  3. Temple of Doom
  4. KOTCS

Raiders
Temple/Crusade (I've flip-flopped between them so many times i give them a dual 2)
KotCS

Basically, Raiders

There was a reviewer on theraider.net who stated that with KotCS the series feels like it has a trilogy of its own, that Raiders is so good the other Indy movies have to work so hard to match up and none of them can, and with KotCS they now have 3 movies separate from the source material

Suffice to say, i agree.

You know I kinda agree with that. Crystal skull tonally feels different from the rest of the series, and I also think it’s due to how modern it is as well. Everything is more fast paced now a days, with flashy scenes and overkill cgi. Not only that but the film visually looks way too different in cinematography. Talk about blooming the hell out of the visuals and the whole film having a yellow tint to it lol. Although the new 4K fixed a bit of that

2. Raiders
3. Crystal Skull
4. Temple of Doom

I love all 4 films and I really think Crystal Skull gets too much hate.

It feels like deciding which child is your favorite - you love them all! They're all Indy, but I grew up on watching Raiders on VHS over and over, Temple of Doom on VHS but not as frequent, and then was old enough in 1989 (I was 9) to go see Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in the theater. You'd think I'd love Last Crusade the most - but perhaps it's all that time watching Raiders that if I had to pick, I actually like them most according to their release order.

1. Raiders
2. Temple
3. Last Crusade
4. KotKS

Raiders is my favorite. It is a perfect film.
Temple of Doom was the first one I saw and will always be special to me.
Last Crusade was the first one I saw in the theater and the one I probably watched the most post-1989.

So my ranking would be: 1) Raiders; 2) TIE between Temple of Doom and Last Crusade - it will depend on which one I most recently watched because every time I decide which one is my favorite of the two, I watch the other one and remember why I like that one and it jumps the other. 4) Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Now for the record, I still really like Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

1). Last Crusade (love the father and son dynamic)
2). Raiders (Can't beat the OG adventure).
3). TOD (Honestly, as quirky as it is, I love it).
4). Crystal Skull (I wonder if TOD viewers felt the same about TOD as some fans feel about Skull? I wouldn't knock anyone for their tastes and likes but personally, I haven't seen Skull since release).

Raiders is the best, period. My opinion comes from being a film student decades ago. There's SO much to analyze and from an aesthetic view, it's practically perfect.

Here's an example of breathtaking composition:

The lighting on Toht's face portrays him as shadowy. Speaking of lighting, the audience can clearly see everything without details being washed out. And, look closely at how the characters are arranged onscreen.

There is no wasted space there. The main villain dominates the center of the frame, and his henchmen fill the background. Marion can be seen just at the extreme right, lit softly. The whole movie is done like this!

Spielberg and his team created a masterpiece.
